The Weekly - September 29-October 6, 2024

Good evening, everyone,

If you have not signed up for the Forum on the website, please do that as soon as you can. There's lots of other useful info there, and we are looking into ways to make it possible for us all to receive notifications when people post. The calendars for October and November are also up, but please check them regularly as they are updated as new info comes in.

We'll be adding all the important info you need re: screening, volunteer opportunities, and info about cadet events and activities to the website as time allows.

We are hoping the forum will replace TeamSnap, and are working on ways to make it more responsive.

This week at the Hall:

Thursday night is CO's Parade PRACTICE. The CO's Parade is a more formal evening where cadets are ceremonially on parade for the Commanding Officer. This week will be the PRACTICE for cadets, so cadets should wear their C1s if they have them, or their FTUs. New cadets who have not been issued a uniform yet, should wear neat civilian clothing. (Clothing description is in the forum).

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

If you are good at sewing, Natalia, in charge of the uniforms, could REALLY need some help sewing a few patches on uniforms, as well as the 676 insignia on new wedges. She thinks it will be about 2 hours of work for someone who knows how to sew. Please respond here, so I can facilitate this.

I'll also be updating the Sign-up Genius, so watch this space.

October 10 will be the Annual General Meeting for the SSC (7pm). 

This year, the SSC has several members whose cadets have aged out, as well as open positions as people have other pressing commitments. It's intimidating to take on a leadership role, but we need people at all levels to keep the SSC strong.

We need more people to join us! We also need directors at large - people who can come to the meetings once a month and vote on how the SSC moves forward. Meetings are short, and there are treats!
